Second Life’s 6th Birthday (SL6B)

Don’t we all grow old? Even Sl does. On June 23, 2009, Second Life turns 6 years old. The Lindens prepared 20 regions for an exhibition “to build and share your particular future”  for Second Life.

There is a whole story behind the theme of the sims: “We are LIVE from Dallier’s Hope, 800 Light Years away we are spiraling through outer space on a Meteor disovered by Space Explorer Ghorman Dallier in 2499 while searching for new worlds to inhabit! Although we’re too far away from the sun to see it and any flora has to be kept in an AEC (Artificial Environment Chamber.) we still know how to throw a party!” (Quote from the Birthday Wiki).

Greetings, seekers of romance

Our vision of the future isn’t one of a virtual world that is filled with abbreviations like SL6B, the official acronym for the sixth birthday, but one should not argue about taste. And even though the theme they chose this year is a very dark one and not very typical for the feelings we share at Love me tender, we applied for a parcel and got chosen:

Hello from the staff of SL6B!

We are pleased to inform you that your exhibit was selected for the
Second Life Birthday Celebration this year! However, *please note*
that this does not yet guarantee that you will receive the parcel size
you asked for. We are still hard at work determining exactly how to
fit the puzzle pieces together on the land we have available.

This email will be followed in the next couple days by a more specific
communication from our Exhibitor Support staff who will tell you what
your final parcel size is, invite you to the proper group and help you
get settled on your land. You will receive this communication by email
*and* notecard as soon as parcels are fully assigned.

Thank you very much for entering, and we look forward to seeing your
build materialize!

Happy Birthday to you!
The SL6B Team
