A star for Second Life on the Walk of Fame

Don’t you think, SL has earned its own star on the Walk of Fame in Hollywood? I do so.

Greetings, seekers of romance

[There is an UPDATE available for this post. Please click here to read this update.]

Are there any real chances of Second Life ever getting its star at the “Walk of fame? The stars are given in one of these five categories: Film, TV, Music, Radio, Theatre. Hmh, difficult to see SL in any one of these categories, but there were precedences before for the crew of Apollo 11, Disneyland and a mayor of Los Angeles.

If you want to vote on this, click here to visit a poll I put on the second life blog. And maybe we will see Second Life’S star in RL some day.

Let’s have a look at the conditions for getting a star:

  1. Professional achievement
YES – sometimes even teleporting works nowadays – lol
  2. Longevity of five years in the field of Entertainment
YES – SL went online in 2003
  3. Contributions to the community
YES – SL sponsors a lot of artistic, educational and scientific activities

And there is an application fee of 25′000$ (not the Linden variety, but USD). But considering the height of our tiers, that should pose no problem for the Lindens (or does it, Philip?).

And while we wait until the Hollywood Historic Trust reaches the same conclusions and someone pays the application tier fee, I made a virtual star as a FREEBIE in Second Life. As usual you find this FREEBIE at our flagship shop in the sky at Eris.

BTW: How about getting a star for yourself, your boyfriend, your girlfriend, your lover, your mother, your father, don’t forget your in-laws, your pet or the pope, Santa Claus or Bugs Bunny?

We usually sell these personalized stars for 800 L$ at our store. But if you write me an email or an IM and if you contributed at least one comment to this blog, then…

… then we will give you one for the price of 600 L$. A reduction of 25 percent should be worth a comment, don’t you think so?

  1. Very interesting idea. Has anyone ever built a virtual walk that you know of? I could see that as being pretty cool.
